In summer many of them house outdoor spectacles of dance, music and fireworks.
The town of Chartres is considered to be the most superb Gothic building in Europe. The United Nations has indicated the Cathedral to be an international cultural heritage sight.
The French Riviera (Cote d'Azur)
The Cote d'Azur or French Riviera lies along the Mediterranean coast at the very foot of the Alps and is one of word's most popular holiday destinations.
It takes less than 2 hours to get from Mediterranean bliss to the cool Alps. Make sure to visit the charming cities of the region.
