The French Alps are the highest mountains in Europe. The highest pick of Europe is Mont Blanc in France. Here snow-covered peaks contrast with the Alpine meadows.

The most favourable time for skiing begins when permanent sunny weather has become settled, in mid-February. Temperatures in the valleys almost never go lower than -10 degrees Celsius. The average air temperature at the height of about 1500 meters is (C): November (0 ...- 2), December (-2 ...- 4), January (-5 ...- 7), February (-2 ...- 4), March (0 ...- 2), April (2 ... 4).
In France you can buy a subscription for skiing. Subscriptions are very different: for a half-day and day, for 2 days, and so on. Subscription can be bought for one valley for skiing, but tickets for the whole area at once are also available. For children up to 5 years old and for adults over the age of 72 the subscriptions are free. There are special family rates.
If necessary, you can use the services of the school. Different levels of training are available: for beginners, training for professionals, etc.
Almost in all sports shops is possible to rent ski equipment. Points of service for ski equipment are also over there. In the shops you will get help as for finding the equipment, depending on the level of your skill.
